Next month, all staff will be invited to complete the Sport Wales Culture Survey where you'll be asked for your views on topics including:
- job growth
- purpose
- wellbeing
- psychological safety
- organisation pride
- belonging
Your feedback will help us identify what we're doing well and where we can improve, so that Sport Wales continues to be a place where people feel they belong, are valued, can thrive, and find purpose in their work.
What was done as a result of the last Culture Survey?
In response to feedback given by staff who completed the Culture Survey 2024, we introduced multiple changes, such as:
- The creation of two individual and collaboration booths in the first floor office at the Sport Wales National Centre for small meetings and calls.
- We reviewed our Anti-Bullying, discrimination, harassment, and victimisation policy - improving clarity and delivering specific training in early 2026.
- We reviewed our approach to secondary and voluntary roles, introduced a clearer approval process, strengthened guidance on managing conflicts of interest and political activities, and set out clearer responsibilities for recording and reviewing these roles.
- We helped build awareness of individual and department roles across the organisation by featuring Team of the Month articles in the Huddle staff newsletter.
- Expectations around key elements of the Performance Framework were made clearer.
- We also refreshed the Inclusive Learning Programme (which includes the EDI Forum, Shared Experiences sessions, and Reflect and Connect sessions) to increase engagement, collaboration and connection across Sport Wales.
Completing the 2026 survey
Details on how to complete the 2026 survey will be sent to all staff next month. Posters containing QR code links to the survey will also be placed in staff areas to help encourage all teams to take part. Please take the chance to share your views.
Once the survey closes, focus groups will be held to better understand responses and key themes of the results will then be shared with staff.
If you have any questions please speak to your line manager or send a message to people@sport.wales.
